Transparency and frictionless consulting
The Challenge
Confident customer consulting can feel like a well-rehearsed theater play. The manager needs a dedicated “bank” view on his monitor that provides them with additional info, while they also need to be able to guide the customer through the information displayed on a more simple interface. These two views needed to be aligned and additionally, the need for managers to call the internal support in the case of roadblocks or user errors, reduced.
The Solution
We set out to reduce the complexity and removing potential roadblocks by streamlining the whole process. For this we condensed the more advanced tools in a neat sidebar, giving the manager a clear view on the part of the screen that the customer sees at this moment. Implementing security checks at neuralgic points of the process, helped minimize the risk of having to abort the application prematurely.
My Role
UI design lead, close collaboration with UX, embedded in a group of high-level client stakeholders and in close consultation with bank mangers to identify potential flaws and pitfalls.
Easy to use UX
The bank’s manager needs to have full control over all the competencies available to them while still working with the clarity of a simple to use dashboard. Our solution was to provided them with additional layers in the app that are unobtrusive but powerful.
Wireframing complex processes
Over the course of months, my UX partner and I had sat down with the client’s stakeholders and product owners to figure out each and every potential legal pitfall that needed to be covered in the application process.
Interdependent and process-stopping issues were identified and 5m wide page maps were charted and displayed all over our meeting room walls.
UI // Dashboard (customer view)
Our new dashboard is visually in line with HVB’s identity, but collects all the necessary in a responsive and interactive graphical interface. The manager can use sliders to make adjustments and re-calculations on the fly and is able to save multiple variants for later comparison.
UI / Page contents (manager view)
The left-facing layout of the underlying customer view allows for additional manger-only tools to slide over the UI without obstructing important information.
